10.10.07 - It's over, I finished it! For those who aren't aware, last Friday I participated in the annual Greek IV Golf Marathon - 100 holes of golf in just over 10 hours. It was exhausting to say the least as the temperature in Indianapolis was over 90 for much of the day. All in all it was a tremendous experience, and I'm proud to say that I completed all 100 holes, took about 560 swings, and emerged with no major blisters – just muscle pain on my left arm and my neck! Given that we raised over $26,000 for Greek Conference it was well worth the minor discomforts. That money lowers overhead costs from the hotel and keeps the price we have to charge students lower. For the Greensboro Conference (the one that I am the local director for), we are able to offer a Conference rate that is lower than last years rate! Praise God!

09.08.07 - I love golf. That's no surprise. But could you have guessed that I love golf this much? On Friday, Sept. 21st, Dave will participate in the annual Greek InterVarsity Golf Marathon. That's right - 100 holes of golf in one day. To be able to participate, however, we need to raise $2,500 in donations. These gifts help underwrite the 2 Greek Conferences (Indy and Charlotte) and help keep student costs for these events as low as possible. Would you consider a one-time gift to Greek InterVarsity to help provide for this event? My personal goal is to raise $3,500 - or $35 per hole. Would you consider supporting me on a per-hole basis - either $.50, $1.00 or $2.00 per hole? If you are interested you can do one of the following:

  • Donate online at www.greekiv.org/golf. At the end of the process please be sure to note - FOR DAVE SHEPLEY in the comments section.

  • E-mail me and let me know you're interested in giving and I'll give you ways to do so without giving online.

  • Mail a check payable to Greek InterVarsity to 119 Student Place - Durham, NC 27713.
